What the Bible Teaches about The Holy Spirit

4. See John 16:13-14 - "But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. He shall glorify Me; for He shall take of Mine, and shall disclose it to you."

The Holy Spirit is our guide into ALL truth. He speaks to us, discloses the future, and glorifies Jesus. Only a person does these things. Notice that the Holy Spirit is He, not an it.

5. 2 Peter 1:20, 21 - "But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God."

The Holy Spirit Gave Us the Bible.

6. Acts 13:2 - "And while they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them."

The Holy Spirit Speaks and Commands.

7. Acts 16:6 - "And they passed through the Phrygian and Galatian region, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia; and when they had come to Mysia, they were trying to go into Bithynia, and the Spirit of Jesus did not permit them;"

The Holy Spirit forbids, permits, and directs us. See Romans 8:14 - "For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God." The Holy Spirit is God, the Spirit of Jesus and the Spirit of God.

8. Acts 15:28 - "For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay upon you no greater burden than these essentials:"
