The Cumberland Presbyterian Church came out of the old Presbyterian Church, February 4, 1810, on the American frontier, as the result of differences over theology, ministerial education, methods of ministry, and the Great Revival of 1800.

"Teaching the Truth in Love"
Since 1989, Pastor L.G. Parkhurst, Jr. has written the weekly Bible Lesson for the Saturday Religion Section of The Oklahoman. He has also published more than 35 books in the USA and abroad, including foreign translations.
He has served Presbyterian, Christian, and Congregational Churches in Oklahoma and Minnesota. He found his spiritual and theological home after visiting Stonegate Church and reading the Confession of Faith of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
